DONCASTER MAN JAILED FOR DOMESTIC AND ASSAULT OFFENCES

Lee Lindley, 28, was in court for a terrifying assault which saw him hit out at his partner after she refused to let him drive her car.

Sheffield Crown Court heard on Monday how Lindley was not insured to drive but was arguing with the woman in February last year.

Prosecutor Mark Thomas said: "They continued to argue and he told her: 'I'll get to f****** kill you, you fat s***.' She entered the house and locked him out for her safety and he repeatedly kicked at the front door and punched the window and called her a 'fat b****.'" It was said Lindley, of High Hazel Road in Moorends, managed to get into the house and as the woman was contacting police, grabbed her phone from her and threw it to the floor.

Mr Thomas added: "She tried to remove him from the house and accepts there was pushing and shoving between them.

He pushed her, causing her glasses to fall from her face and said the words, 'If I didn't care about going to jail I would bray you now.'" The woman grabbed her phone and ran outside to contact the police but again Lindley got hold of it and threw it to the floor before forcing her car window open to retrieve his possessions.

It was in July last year, while Lindley was on trial for those offences, that he assaulted a teenage boy at a recreation ground in Moorends.

The prosecutor said the boy was there with his stepbrother and friends and saw Lindley and another man trying to start a fire.

He initially tried to ignore him then left, but Lindley chased him and headbutted him.

The victim ran away from Lindley.

Lindley was arrested in October and admitted headbutting him but claimed the victim had been shouting abuse at him, swearing, and showing off.

Lindley, who has previous convictions for malicious wounding, criminal damage, and malicious communications, pleaded guilty to multiple charges including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, threats to damage property, malicious communications, harassment, and criminal damage.

The court was told Lindley had a troubled childhood and long-standing mental health issues and was a man who would need help.

He was sentenced to 21 months in jail.
