DOMESTIC ABUSER LEE JONES SENTENCED TO 27 MONTHS FOR VIOLATING RESTRAINING ORDER
Lee Jones, who is 39 years old, has been found guilty of multiple crimes related to domestic abuse.
After his relationship ended, a restraining order was issued against him on January 16, 2023, forbidding any contact with his former partner and preventing him from approaching her home.
Despite this order, the victim reported that in October 2023, she received about 30 phone calls daily from a number believed to be one linked to Jones.
The situation worsened when, on November 1, Jones left a voicemail stating he wanted to see her again and expressing confusion over her rejection.
The following day, he left another voicemail claiming he was not involved with anyone else and wishing her happiness.
Near the end of November, just a week before he was due to be released from prison, he left a third voicemail, which increased her concern for her safety.
Jones was detained by police after his release and charged with violating the restraining order.
During a court hearing at Chester Crown Court, Jones admitted to four counts of breaching the order and was sentenced to 27 months in prison.
A police spokesperson commended the victim’s courage and noted that Jones had a history of manipulative and violent behavior, which left her feeling scared, humiliated, and vulnerable, with fears that he could be lurking around every corner when she left her house.
