ABERDEEN MAN JAILED FOR DISTURBING SEXUAL ASSAULT DURING SLEEPOVER BY LICKING GIRL’S FEET
An Aberdeen man named Lee Edwards has been sentenced to jail following a disturbing incident where he entered a girl’s bedroom during the night and engaged in inappropriate behavior.Edwards, who is 45 years old and has admitted to having a foot fetish, pled guilty to sexual assault involving a teenage girl during a sleepover.
The assault involved licking her feet, sucking her toes, trying to remove her lower clothing, and touching her private parts over her pajamas. The court was told the girl, a family friend, initially believed she was dreaming when she first felt Edwards pulling her socks off and saw him standing at the bottom of her bed.
Later that night, between 1 am and 2 am, Edwards returned, pulled her socks off again, and continued to lick her feet and suck her toes for about four to five minutes.
He then kneeled nearby and attempted to remove her pajamas and touched her private parts with his fingers.
The incident was interrupted when a second girl in the room woke up and disturbed Edwards, after which he left the room. The victim reported the incident to her parents the next day.
Edwards was subsequently arrested and interviewed.
During questioning, he expressed his awareness of his fetish and claimed that he tripped on a hairbrush, which caused him to fall and his face to touch her feet.
DNA evidence was also recovered from the girl’s feet, matching Edwards’s DNA.His defense attorney acknowledged that Edwards's actions were "deplorable and shameful," but stated he had no previous offenses, had stable employment, and was receiving therapy for his behavior, which he attributed to childhood abuse.
Edwards also apologized for the distress caused and indicated remorse.Sheriff Philip Mann described the offence as "extremely serious" and emphasized the significant impact on the victim.
Ultimately, Edwards was sentenced to 12 months in custody and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
The court recognized the complex background that may have contributed to his offending but reaffirmed the need for incarceration due to the gravity of the attack.
