Tower Hamlets Rapist
In a harrowing case of child abuse that has shocked the local community, Lee Curley, a 36-year-old man from Tower Hamlets, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a series of depraved crimes involving the sexual exploitation of a young girl. The incident, which took place over nearly a year, involved a girl under the age of 13 who was subjected to a disturbing pattern of abuse by Curley, who documented his heinous acts through videos and photographs.

Detectives described the case as one of the most severe instances of child abuse they had encountered. Curley was found to have recorded multiple assaults on his victim using his phone and iPad, amassing over 120 images and videos depicting the abuse. In total, authorities uncovered more than 1,000 images and videos of children being sexually exploited, highlighting the extent of Curley's disturbing collection.

Curley's arrest was prompted by police discovering the evidence on his iPad. Initially, he denied any involvement in the abuse and claimed he had no knowledge of the images found on his devices. However, once confronted with the evidence, he changed his plea and admitted to the charges.

He pleaded guilty to several serious offenses, including the rape of a girl under 13, possession of extreme pornographic material depicting rape, and possession and creation of indecent images of children. During the police investigation, authorities uncovered another victim who had been groomed by Curley over a period of two years. This led to additional charges, including inciting a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity and causing a child under 13 to view sexual images.

At Snaresbrook Crown Court, the judge sentenced Curley to 16 years in prison on the Friday following his guilty plea. Furthermore, he will be subject to a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order, aimed at preventing any future offenses and protecting the community from further harm. The case has left a lasting impact on the victims and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and swift law enforcement action in combating child exploitation.
