Ipswich Domestic Abuser
A man named Lee Alan Nicholas, aged 29, who had previously survived a severe road accident involving a lorry in June 2006 and was in a coma, has been charged with assaulting his partner while holding their two-week-old baby. The incident resulted in Sally Phillips sustaining bruising to her face and arms, as well as two black eyes. The assault was witnessed by two seven-year-old girls. Nicholas appeared in South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court with a missing portion of skull from his head, a remnant from his earlier accident. The court heard that Nicholas, who is from Rectory Road in Ipswich, had been drinking and acting aggressively. During the court proceedings, it was noted that he had previously been convicted of assault by battery. The magistrates adjourned the case for pre-sentence reports and remanded him in custody until sentencing scheduled for February 6.
