In a serious case brought before Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, Laurie John Sutton, a resident of Ashlea, Hook, has admitted to possessing a significant number of indecent images of children. The court proceedings took place in May 2016, where Sutton, aged 53, pleaded guilty to three separate counts related to the possession of these illicit materials.

According to court records, Sutton was found in possession of a total of 107 images depicting child exploitation. Among these, 24 images were classified as 'category A,' which is the most severe classification, indicating images that involve the rape of children. This detail underscores the gravity of the material involved in the case.

In addition to the images, Sutton also admitted to possessing 13 videos that contained various categories of indecent content involving minors. Notably, three of these videos were also classified as 'category A,' further highlighting the disturbing nature of the material he was found with.

Following his guilty plea, Sutton was granted conditional bail. He is scheduled to return to Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on June 7 for a pre-sentencing hearing, where the court will determine the appropriate penalties for his actions. The case remains ongoing as authorities continue to address the serious allegations against him.
