KYLE WEBSTER FROM CLACKMANNAN STILL REQUIRED TO COMPLETE UNPAID WORK AFTER DOMESTIC ABUSE CASE IN STIRLING
A man named Kyle Webster, originally from Stirling and residing on Upper Bridge Street, remains under obligation to fulfill his community service requirements stemming from a domestic abuse incident that occurred over three years ago. Webster appeared before Alloa Sheriff Court for a review of his ongoing community payback order, which is part of his sentencing for the offense. The incident in question involved a sustained campaign of domestic violence against his partner, taking place between November 1, 2019, and January 11, 2020, at Craignie Terrace in Clackmannan. During this period, Webster exhibited repeated aggressive and abusive behavior towards his partner. Witnesses and evidence indicated that he was often shouting and swearing at her, engaging in verbal abuse that created a threatening environment.
Furthermore, Webster's actions extended beyond verbal abuse. He was documented to have damaged property by punching doors and walls within the residence, contributing to a hostile and unsafe living situation. His behavior also included sending threatening messages, some of which contained references to suicide, adding a layer of emotional distress and danger for his partner.
One particularly concerning incident involved Webster kicking a bedroom door, which resulted in the door striking his partner on the head, causing her injury. This act of physical violence underscored the severity of the abuse and the ongoing risk posed to her safety.
Despite having participated in the Caledonian Programme, a rehabilitation initiative aimed at domestic abuse offenders, Webster has yet to complete his required community service hours. He still needs to undertake more than 120 hours of unpaid work as part of his sentence. The court, presided over by Sheriff Neil Bowie, decided to extend the deadline for completing these hours by an additional four months. The sheriff emphasized the importance of Webster prioritizing the completion of his unpaid work, noting that he had been given sufficient time and opportunity to fulfill this obligation.
Overall, the court's decision reflects a continued focus on ensuring accountability and rehabilitation for offenders involved in domestic abuse cases, while also stressing the importance of completing community service as part of the justice process.
