KYLE MCGHEE SENTENCED IN SOUTHAMPTON FOR ILLEGAL VIDEO OF UNDERAGE GIRL
Kyle McGhee filmed a 15-year-old girl having sex during what he described as an "idiot moment," a court heard. He then shared the video with four people and reportedly was proud of his actions. Prosecuting lawyer Michael Forster explained that the girl later asked him to delete the footage. During a police interview, McGhee, of Bull Lane in Minstead, admitted to filming the video. Mr. Forster stated that McGhee claimed, "She was loving it and it was just a laugh. It was one of my idiot moments." At the time of the incident, McGhee was 17 years old and working in hospitality. He was initially arrested on suspicion of rape but was not charged with that offense. Instead, he faced a charge of taking an indecent photograph of a child, to which he pleaded guilty. Defense solicitor John Dyer highlighted McGhee’s background, noting he was born with foetal drug syndrome, which affects his cognitive development, and that he was adopted. Dyer emphasized McGhee’s immaturity at the time and pointed out the delay in bringing the case to court, which involved an incident in Romsey on July 1, 2018. McGhee has previous convictions, including three counts of assault by beating and one count of using threatening and abusive language, as well as charges related to drugs and driving. At Southampton Crown Court, Judge Nicholas Rowland sentenced McGhee to 15 months in prison, suspended for 18 months. He must also complete 40 days of rehabilitation activities and 150 hours of unpaid work.
