REDDITCH RAPIST KYLE LLOYD SEXUALLY ASSAULTED 81 YEAR OLD GRANDMOTHER WHO SUBSEQUENTLY DIED.
Kyle Lloyd has been described as a vicious and depraved individual. The 21-year-old from Rushock Close committed a sexual assault against an 81-year-old great-grandmother, which ultimately led to her death.
Lloyd received an indeterminate sentence at Worcester Crown Court, with a minimum of three and a half years before he could seek parole.
The offense took place in July at the victim’s bungalow in Fladbury Close, Woodrow, where Lloyd attacked her while intoxicated following a family wedding.
Court testimonies revealed that Lloyd knocked on her window early in the morning, claiming he was her son.
Once let inside, he silenced her by covering her mouth and then raped her.
Earlier, a fire alarm went off in the victim’s room, but she appeared disoriented when a warden approached, apologizing for the alarm.
The warden heard a male voice but thought it was the television.
Later that morning, the woman triggered another alarm and confided in the warden, saying she had been raped and was soaked.
Police arrived to find her alone in bed and learned she had been pleading with Lloyd to stop but was too weak to resist.
His fingerprints and a cigarette butt that activated the fire alarm were found at the scene.
He was detained several days afterward.
The victim’s quality of life was severely affected, changing from a cheerful, independent woman to someone constantly checking her doors and windows and feeling uneasy.
She was hospitalized weeks later and died the following September.
Lloyd, a father of two, admitted guilt but claimed no memory of the assault.
He was also convicted for an unprovoked attack on his father at his 50th birthday, during which he inflicted cuts and bruises and fractured his nose.
His criminal history also includes assaulting his former girlfriend after dragging her out of her home, during which she was crying and questioning her feelings.
Psychiatric evaluations indicated a significant risk of future violent acts.
Judge John Cavell stated, “Your conduct shattered the victim’s sense of security, which she thought was guaranteed.” Detective Mark O’Connor from West Mercia Police commented, “This attack was particularly heinous on a helpless elderly woman.
Despite her bravery, she was deeply traumatized, and the assault led to her inability to return home.” He further noted that Lloyd exploited the open window and the property's ward presence, fully aware she was vulnerable.
After the incident, Lloyd posted on social media platform Bebo, boasting about his love for fighting and drinking.
