DUNFERMLINE MAN ATTACKED PARTNER AFTER BEING ASKED TO TURN DOWN MUSIC
A Dunfermline man launched a violent attack on his partner when he was asked to turn music down.As a result, 33-year-old Kyle Davidson, of Glen Beasdale Court, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on August 2, at his home, he assaulted his partner by dragging her from a bed, placed his hands around her throat and punched her on the body.
The court was told that Davidson was heavily intoxicated, playing loud music and was annoyed when his partner asked him to turn it off.
He grabbed her out of the bed and put his hands around her neck before punching her several times to the body.
She began shouting for help and then called the police.
She sustained a cut and swelling to her lips, nose and face.
Defence solicitor Lucy Martin said her client works as a team leader at a local fish factory.
“It was a rather trivial argument about the level of music and he was heavily intoxicated at the time.
“She understands that alcohol is not an excuse but it was a factor in it escalating.
He’s ashamed of his action.” She added that the couple are still together.
Sheriff Derek Reekie said: “This would have been a frightening incident for your partner and the children who were in the house at the time, which is an aggravating factor.” He imposed a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work and 18 months of supervision.
