ANGUS ‘PORNOGRAPHER’ SECRETLY FILMED SCHOOLGIRLS AND OFFERED TO SELL VIDEOS
A young man from Angus, involved in child exploitation, is facing imprisonment after covertly recording and attempting to sell videos of adolescent schoolgirls.Kyle Burden used the messaging app Telegram to offer access to videos depicting underage girls between June 2023 and April 2025.
Authorities confiscated his electronic devices and discovered numerous images and videos of minors being subjected to abuse.
The 23-year-old first-time offender admitted in Dundee Sheriff Court to downloading illegal material over a period of six years and causing fear and distress by filming girls without their knowledge.
Sheriff Paul Ralph addressed Burden directly, stating: “Let’s not beat about the bush.
Essentially, what you’ve done here is transform yourself into a pornographer, involving images of older children.” On March 31, 2025, police raided his residence on Downie Way, Hillside, seizing an iPhone, iPad, and a computer tower.
Investigators found 14 images on these devices, two of which were at the most severe level of depravity, along with two videos depicting child abuse, including young children as young as two engaged in sexual acts with an adult male.
Prosecutor Charmaine Gilmartin revealed that over 100 files contained explicit material of high school-aged girls, some sourced from social media and others recorded covertly.
Burden used Telegram channels to distribute videos and images of teenage girls accompanied by offensive sexual captions and offered access to these files for payment.
He also managed channels featuring child abuse content, with a total duration nearing an hour, some of which had been altered using AI technology.
He pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children from May 2019 to May 2025, and to engaging in threatening and alarming behavior from June 2023 to April 2025.
Sentencing has been postponed pending reports, and he remains subject to the sex offenders register.
His legal team stated that he sought assistance from the Lucy Faithfull Foundation following his arrest and is currently on leave from his job.
Sheriff Ralph indicated that prison detention is probable.
The case was adjourned for further assessments, and Burden is to stay on the sex offenders register in the meantime.
