HULL MAN JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE AFTER BABY SUFFERED FOUR FRACTURES
Kristjan Brawley took the child to hospital for one injury but doctors discovered more. The court heard the baby suffered four leg fractures over a six-week period, including to the left femur, right tibia, and two fractures to the left shinbone, caused by significant force that would have caused pain.
Brawley claimed the left shinbone fracture happened when he sat on the baby while it was lying on a bed, and the left thigh injury was caused when the child was asleep and fell before being pulled up by Brawley.
He also indicated uncertainty over how the right shin fracture could have occurred.
The court found both parents neglected the child's welfare, leaving the baby to suffer pain without proper medical treatment.
Brawley was jailed for two years and 10 months, and was on bail until sentencing.
