MAN FOUND GUILTY OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING WOMAN AND TEENAGER AVOIDS PRISON SENTENCE
A man who was convicted of sexual crimes involving a woman and a teenage girl has been added to the sex offenders' register.
Kris Neish was found guilty during a hearing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court of two sexual assaults committed over a period of more than four years.
The 33-year-old was convicted of inappropriately touching a woman’s private parts and making sexual contact with a girl aged between 14 and 15, by touching her leg in a sexual manner.
Neish, who resides at Bayview Court in Aberdeen, was acquitted by the jury on a third count of sexual assault.
The court was told Neish, who works as an IT technician, assaulted the youngest victim at a property in Aberdeen sometime between January 2015 and January 2016.
He also sexually assaulted an 18-year-old victim at the same address on June 15, 2019.
During sentencing, Neish’s solicitor, Neil Shand, stated that his client maintains his innocence regarding these crimes.
"He does not accept that he committed these offences," Mr Shand commented.
Instead of jail, Sheriff William Summer sentenced Neish to a three-year community payback order with supervision, requiring him to complete 240 hours of unpaid work.
Furthermore, he will be on the sex offender register for three years and must participate in a sexual offender’s program.
A non-harassment order was also issued, preventing Neish from contacting or approaching any of his victims for a period of five years.
