HOUGHTON MAN JAILED FOR THREATENING EX-PARTNER AND CLIMBING ON HER SHED ROOF
A man named Kim Forth, aged 39, has been convicted of threatening his former partner and engaging in abusive behavior. The incident involved Forth sending multiple threatening messages via Snapchat, including threats to smash her windows, harm her, and put her in a coma.
He also sent voice notes and messages that threatened to 'smash her windows' and 'torture her.' The court was told that Forth and his ex-partner unexpectedly ran into each other in a shop in January this year.
Subsequently, Forth smashed a can of pop and made further threats through the app Find My iPhone, which led to police being called.
Police observed Forth climbing onto the roof of the woman's shed, which led into her rear bedroom.
He was arrested on the spot, and despite being taken into custody, he continued shouting threats, including threatening to give the victim 'a good hiding.' The victim reported feeling 'scared' and 'mentally unwell' due to his actions.
Forth showed a complete lack of remorse and minimized his behavior during court proceedings, engaging in victim blaming.
He pleaded guilty to charges including sending threatening communications, making threats to damage property, and harassment that put the victim in fear of violence.
As a result, he was sentenced to 16 months in prison and issued a five-year restraining order.
