A man named Kieran Oxley has admitted to sharing an explicit video of a woman online without her permission.
The video was posted in two versions on the internet, where it was viewed by more than 700 people.
The victim was only informed about its circulation after receiving a message from a stranger on Facebook claiming to have seen the video on another site.
The incident occurred after Oxley found out that the woman had been seeing another man, which led to him throwing a mug that smashed into a wall and damaged a nearby fan.
Following this, Oxley sent offensive messages to a member of the victim's family, attacking her character.
He admitted to disclosing private sexual films with intent to cause distress, criminal damage, and sending offensive messages when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction as the case was deemed too serious and stated the case would proceed to Chelmsford Crown Court on August 21 for sentencing.
Oxley was released on conditional bail and is not permitted to contact the victim or any witnesses, nor go to her residence in Colchester.
