Newbridge Child Sexual Abuser
In December 2016, a disturbing case of child abuse came to light involving Kieran Curran, a 40-year-old man residing on Hilary Road in Newbridge, Wales. The heinous acts were committed against a young girl from Fleetwood, who was only six years old at the time of the initial assault.

According to court proceedings, Curran lured the innocent child under a blanket under the false pretense of watching a movie. Once beneath the cover, he subjected her to sexual assault, an act that has left a lasting scar on the young victim. The severity of the crime was underscored during the trial, revealing that the abuse began when the girl was as young as six years old.

The case took a disturbing turn in September 2014, when the victim, now older, disclosed that Curran had been sending her inappropriate messages of a sexual nature via her mobile phone. This revelation prompted a thorough investigation by authorities. The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, confided in her friends and teachers at her school in Fleetwood, which ultimately led to the uncovering of Curran’s predatory behavior.

Kieran Curran, originally from Nottingham and employed by a catering distribution company, pleaded guilty to three counts of assaulting a child under 13 and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. His guilty plea was entered before Preston Crown Court, where the gravity of his crimes was fully acknowledged.

Judge Graham Knowles QC sentenced Curran to 12 years in prison. Additionally, upon his release, Curran will be subject to an extra year on licence, ensuring continued supervision. The court also imposed an indefinite restraining order and a sexual harm prevention order to protect the victim and prevent any further offenses.

This case highlights the importance of vigilance and the need for robust legal measures to safeguard children from predators like Kieran Curran, whose actions have caused profound harm to a young girl from Fleetwood.
