BROCKHILL SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR TRIP VIOLATIONS
A sex offender was sentenced to three months in prison at Worcester Crown Court after failing to notify authorities about his international trips.
Kevin Walker, aged 45 and residing on Apple Tree Lane in Brockhill, admitted to breaching the requirements of the Sex Offenders Register.
He was also ordered to pay £1,500 in court costs.
Judge Andrew Geddes clarified that Walker, who maintains he was wrongly convicted of indecent assault in 1996, was legally obliged to remain on the register for life due to his attack on an elderly woman.
Despite this, he traveled to Menorca in 2005 and Bangkok in 2006 without informing police, violating his registration conditions.
The judge observed that Walker had difficulty accepting the obligation to sign the register, viewing it as a violation of his human rights.
Nevertheless, he stressed that legal obligations must be followed, even if no immediate risk was posed.
