KEVIN KNIBBS FROM MORTON IN BOURNE FACES SERIOUS CHARGES OVER INDECENT AND EXTREME PORNOGRAPHIC IMAGES AT LINCOLN MAGISTRATES COURT
In March 2021, a man from Lincolnshire, Kevin Andrew Knibbs, aged 46 and residing on East Lane in Morton in Bourne, appeared before Lincoln magistrates to face multiple serious charges related to the possession and creation of indecent and extreme pornographic images.The court proceedings revealed that Knibbs was accused of six counts involving the making of indecent images, as well as possessing extreme pornographic material.
Specifically, he faced three allegations of producing indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child, with the images ranging from Category A to Category B.
The authorities discovered over 600 such images on his devices, indicating a significant collection of illicit material.
In addition to these, Knibbs was charged with one count of possessing extreme pornographic images, another of possessing a prohibited image of a child, and a further count involving extreme pornographic images depicting acts that involved sexual interference with a corpse.
These offenses are alleged to have occurred on December 4, 2019.
During the hearing at Lincoln magistrates court on Friday, March 26, Knibbs pleaded guilty to all the charges brought against him.
He also confirmed his date of birth and his residential address in Morton in Bourne before the court.
The magistrates, after hearing the case, decided that it was too serious to be handled at their level and committed the case to Lincoln Crown Court for a future hearing, with the exact date yet to be scheduled.
In the meantime, Knibbs was granted conditional bail.
The conditions of his bail included a restriction on having any unsupervised contact with individuals under the age of 18.
This condition was already in place prior to the hearing, reflecting concerns about his potential risk to minors.
The magistrates emphasized that the severity of the charges meant that sentencing would be beyond their jurisdiction, and the case would be transferred to the Crown Court for a more comprehensive hearing.
Knibbs was represented by solicitors from Sills & Betteridge, who are now preparing for the next stage of legal proceedings.
