MAN CHARGED WITH RAPE AND MURDER AFTER GIRL'S DEATH
A man has been formally charged with murder after the body of a two-year-old girl was found at a residence in Chertsey.Police responded to a call around 17:40 BST on Thursday to an address in Pyrcroft Road, after concerns about the safety of an individual were raised.
Kevin Kerjean, aged 31, faces additional charges of rape and sexual assault involving a child under the age of 13.
He is scheduled to appear before Guildford Crown Court on Monday.
Surrey Police initially reported that the girl was three years old, but the investigation into her death is still ongoing.
Authorities have confirmed they are not seeking any other suspects related to the case.
Kerjean is identified by police as a French national who was born in the Central African Republic.
