SERIAL DOMESTIC ABUSER KEVIN EVANS GETS LIGHT SENTENCE DESPITE BLOODSHED
Kevin Evans, who was involved in multiple cases of domestic violence, was sentenced after a series of assaults on Jessica Donald and other women.Evans was found guilty of choking, punching, strangling, yanking hair, and threatening women, including Jessica, Jennifer, and Stephanie.
Jessica described the violent incidents, including being choked until she nearly lost consciousness, fractured ribs, and hair pulled out.
Despite admitting to some assaults, Evans received a lenient sentence of a one-year conditional sentence, two years probation, and mandatory counseling for alcohol, drug abuse, and anger management.
The judge acknowledged a pattern of abuse but stated that he could not fully account for Evans' past offenses, resulting in a relatively light sentence.
Jessica expressed her frustration, stating that her partner's actions and the court's leniency made her feel that domestic violence is not taken seriously enough, especially for such severe acts as choking, which she equated with attempted murder.
