KEVIN CRASKE FROM BRISTON SENTENCED TO 18 MONTHS FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES AND SEXUAL OFFENSES IN NORWICH

In April 2017, Kevin Craske, a former member of the Briston Parish Council in north Norfolk, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty of possessing indecent images of children and attempting to incite minors to engage in sexual activities.

The court also ordered Craske to be placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of ten years and imposed a sexual harm prevention order to restrict his activities.

Craske, who resides at Providence Place in Briston, admitted to multiple serious charges, including the possession of indecent images of children, two counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity, and attempting to engage in sexual activity in the presence of a minor.

Additionally, he confessed to possessing extreme pornographic material, further highlighting the severity of his offenses.

The court proceedings revealed that police, upon examining Craske’s computer, discovered a disturbing collection of over 400 indecent images of children, along with several videos and nine images classified as extreme pornography.

Prosecutor Lori Tucker detailed that among the material found, 132 images and 16 videos fell into the most serious category, underscoring the gravity of the case.

Judge Anthony Bate, presiding over the case at Norwich Crown Court, acknowledged Craske’s guilty pleas and noted that the defendant deserved credit for his cooperation.

The judge also mentioned that the delay in sentencing was due to a mental health assessment, during which Craske was found to be suffering from anxiety and depression at the time of the offenses.

Despite these mitigating factors, Judge Bate emphasized that the seriousness of the crimes warranted a custodial sentence, reflecting the gravity of the offenses committed by Craske in Briston and the surrounding area.
