Bentilee Rapist
In October 2017, authorities in Stoke-on-Trent took decisive action against Kevin Bloor, a resident of Bentilee, after discovering his involvement in the possession and download of a vast collection of indecent images depicting children. The investigation was initiated when police executed a search warrant at Bloor's home following credible information suggesting he had access to such illicit material.

During the raid, law enforcement officials seized multiple digital devices, including a mobile phone, two USB drives, and a laptop. These devices were subjected to thorough forensic analysis, revealing a disturbing array of illegal content. The images found on these devices included 379 in the most severe Category A, 221 in Category B, and 1,237 in Category C. Additionally, there were 68 extreme pornographic images, alongside 31 videos in Category A, 30 in Category B, and 13 in Category C.

The content was particularly heinous, featuring young children subjected to sexual assault. Among the most disturbing images were those depicting a girl aged between two and four being anally raped, as well as the vaginal rape of children aged five to seven and infants as young as six months up to 18 months. The extreme pornography included a graphic scene involving a large dog engaging in sexual acts with a woman.

Further investigations led police back to Bloor’s residence in June 2019. During this subsequent visit, officers noted suspicious behavior from Bloor, who appeared to be attempting to conceal something. When asked to surrender his phone, it was again examined for illicit content. This second search uncovered an additional 197 Category A images, 106 Category B, and 692 Category C images, all downloaded while Bloor was on bail. The forensic analysis also revealed that some images had been deliberately deleted, indicating an active effort to hide or remove certain files. The images and videos spanned from October 2015 through July 2017, and continued into 2018 and 2019, despite Bloor’s bail conditions.

Kevin Bloor, aged 38 and residing on Ubberley Road in Bentilee, pleaded guilty to six charges of making indecent photographs of children and one charge of possessing an extreme pornographic image. His actions have caused significant concern given the nature of the material involved.

In sentencing at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Judge David Fletcher emphasized the gravity of the offenses. He stated, “The images you were viewing were not dolls or mannequins, but of real children. It is essential you come to terms with your continued admitted use of alcohol and cannabis. The only way rehabilitation can be achieved is in the context of a very lengthy three-year community order.”

As part of his sentence, Bloor was ordered to complete a sex offenders’ work group program, a rehabilitation activity requirement for 55 days, and to perform 120 hours of unpaid community service. Additionally, he was placed under a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) for five years and registered on the sex offenders’ register for the same duration. The court also imposed a financial penalty, requiring Bloor to pay £500 in costs.
