DUNCHURCH'S KELVIN LLOYD SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE AT NORTHAMPTONSHIRE CHILDREN'S HOME
In a case that has shocked the local community, Kelvin Lloyd, a man from Dunchurch, Warwickshire, was convicted and sentenced for heinous sexual offenses committed against a young girl at a children’s care facility in Northamptonshire.The incident, which spanned over several years, led to Lloyd being branded as a 'dangerous predator' by the court.
On Friday, July 26, at Northampton Crown Court, Lloyd, aged 46, was handed a prison sentence of 16 months after he pleaded guilty to multiple charges.
These included three counts of abusing a position of trust and three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
The court heard that Lloyd was responsible for overseeing the well-being of children at the care home during night shifts, a role that he exploited to commit his crimes.
The specific details of the abuse relate to a girl who was residing at the unnamed care home in Northamptonshire.
The court was informed that Lloyd had engaged in these inappropriate acts between 2015 and 2018.
To protect the victim’s identity, the name of the care facility has not been disclosed.
The court was also told that Lloyd used threats and intimidation tactics over the course of three years to silence his victim and prevent her from speaking out about the abuse.
Following his conviction, Lloyd has been placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of 10 years.
Additionally, he has been subjected to a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in effect for the same duration.
Lloyd is also now legally barred from working with children and vulnerable adults, a measure intended to prevent any future harm.
