OXFORD MAN CHARGED WITH SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST GIRL 40 YEARS AGO

Keith Simpson of Hill Crescent, Finstock, has a new trial scheduled after making an appearance at Oxford Crown Court on Monday, May 18.

The 65-year-old faces three charges of gross indecency involving a girl under the age of 14, alleged to have taken place between April 1982 and September 1985.

According to the court records, the incidents are said to have occurred in Witney when the girl was just 10 years old.

Simpson has denied the charges, maintaining his innocence.

The rescheduled trial will begin on Tuesday, June 9.

Judge Mr.

Recorder Alan Gardner KC cautioned Simpson that failing to attend the trial could result in the case proceeding without him.

Simpson is currently on conditional bail, which includes a restriction on contacting the alleged victim.
