KEITH LIVERMORE FROM OARE SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE IN MAIDSTONE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Oare near Faversham, Keith Livermore, aged 54, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after admitting to a series of heinous sexual offenses involving young girls. The crimes came to light following a detailed investigation that uncovered a pattern of abuse, including the disturbing act of Livermore photographing himself while raping one girl and abusing another.

Livermore’s arrest and subsequent court proceedings revealed the full extent of his criminal behavior. The offences were brought to public attention after the youngest victim confided in her mother about her discomfort, prompting her to seek medical examination at a hospital. It was during this investigation that Livermore’s involvement was uncovered, and he was taken into custody.

During the court hearing at Maidstone Crown Court, Livermore, who resides at Colegates Court, Oare, near Faversham, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of rape, four counts of sexual assault, two counts of taking indecent photographs of a child, one count of making indecent photographs of a child, and possession of indecent images of children. The severity of his crimes was underscored by the presence of a man who, in a fit of rage, stormed the secure dock, hammered on the glass, and made threats before being restrained by court security. This incident highlighted the intense public outrage surrounding the case.

Prosecutor Simon Taylor detailed the horrific nature of Livermore’s offenses, emphasizing that police investigations uncovered approximately 40 photographs depicting the abuse of both young girls. A distinctive birthmark on Livermore’s stomach was visible in the images, which helped authorities link him to the crimes. Further investigation revealed that Livermore had downloaded nearly 1,400 child sex abuse images from the internet, with searches specifically targeting images of young girls and underage sexual abuse. Disturbingly, evidence also showed that Livermore kept a “trophy drawer” under his bed containing the youngest girl’s knickers, and a frilly skirt belonging to another girl he had previously been accused of abusing—though he was acquitted of that particular charge by a jury.

Judge Jeremy Carey condemned Livermore’s actions, stating, “You have committed the gravest of sexual crimes.” The judge highlighted the long-term psychological harm inflicted upon the children involved, emphasizing the seriousness of the offenses. As part of his sentence, Livermore will serve a minimum of two-thirds of his 14-year term under an extended sentence for public protection, meaning he will not be eligible for parole until then. After his release, he will be on license for an additional three years. Furthermore, Livermore will be permanently barred from working with children, and his name will be entered onto the sex offenders’ register for life.

As Livermore was led away to the cells, a woman in the courtroom shouted “scum” and “dirty pig,” reflecting the community’s outrage and disgust at his crimes. The case has left a lasting impact on the victims and their families, and it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and justice in protecting vulnerable children from predators.
