Cold-blooded killer Keane Pyzer callously targeted a Hull man, Anthony Ibbitson, in a vicious and cowardly attack.
He brutally murdered him by punching and kicking him, then leaving him in a burning flat.
The victim, aged 54, was left with severe injuries and burns, and died a few days later.
Pyzer, 22, from Spring Bank, Hull, denied murdering Mr Ibbitson but was convicted of manslaughter after a jury found him guilty.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 23 years, less 633 days in custody on remand, before he becomes eligible for parole.
Pyzer had a long history of crime, including previous violent assaults, and was in custody on remand at the time of the murder.
