LISBURN MAN JAILED FOR LIFE FOR STABBING GIRLFRIEND 18 TIMES
The court records indicate that Kaspars Stamers, a 29-year-old resident of Lisburn, admitted to the murder of his Latvian partner, Ksenjia Vorosilina. The fatal attack involved stabbing her 18 times within their residence in Lisburn, and the crime took place on May 28 of the previous year.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing Stamers with bloodstained hands, visibly intoxicated and shouting, 'I have killed my girlfriend.' The presiding judge, Mr Justice Weir, sentenced him to serve a minimum of 12 years before being eligible for parole.
It was relayed during the trial that Ksenjia, aged 28 and employed as an embroidery stitcher, was left at her home after her employer dropped her off.
A neighbor’s screams led to her discovery unconscious and bleeding on her doorstep, and she was pronounced dead upon arrival of emergency services.
The judge commented that Stamers had led a mostly unproductive life characterized by heavy alcohol consumption, sporadic employment, and gambling issues, which he believed contributed to the domestic confrontation.
The court also highlighted Stamers’ guilty plea and his expression of remorse, as well as his claim that he admitted guilt because he felt her family endured unnecessary pain.
