‘PREDATOR’ WITH A SICK SECRET WILL NEVER WORK WITH KIDS AGAIN
A "dangerous" man has been jailed for child sex offences and barred from ever working with kids again.Karl Shuttleworth, from Poulshot near Devizes, pleaded guilty to attempting to cause/incite a female child to engage in sexual activity, attempting to cause a child under 13 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity, arrange/facilitate the commission of a child sex offence and attempt to engage in sexual communication with a child back in December.
Wiltshire Police say the 60-year-old, formerly of Poulshot Road, "had a job which involved working alongside vulnerable children".
But the "predator" had a sick secret, prowling the internet trying to arrange sexual encounters with people he believed to be children.
On February 23 (Monday) he was sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court to three years in prison.
He was also given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to pay CPS costs of £1,000, a £228 surcharge and will be barred from working with children and vulnerable adults for life.
The investigation was led by Wiltshire Police's Child Internet Exploitation Team (CIET).
Officers attended Shuttleworth’s address back in September 2024 where he was arrested following allegations that he was engaging with children he believed to be as young as 12 online in an attempt to meet them for sexual activity.
