CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUPLE KARL ROBINSON AND SOPHIE EASON EDGE SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

A couple from Cambridgeshire, Karl Robinson and Sophie Eason Edge, have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in child sexual abuse. Robinson, 29 years old, was initially arrested after authorities received a tip-off from the National Crime Agency (NCA) regarding the online sharing of indecent images of children, with the information originating from New Zealand. During investigations on September 22, following his arrest, authorities examined his devices and discovered a video depicting Eason Edge, 28, abusing a child. Subsequently, both Robinson and Eason Edge were re-arrested. It was revealed that Robinson possessed 537 indecent images of children across his electronic devices.

On September 27 at Cambridge Crown Court, Robinson, residing in Calvin Close, Cottenham, South Cambridgeshire, was sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to five counts of making indecent images of children and two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. He will serve an additional six years on extended licence and was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order lasting 20 years. Eason Edge, also of Calvin Close, Cottenham, received a four-year prison sentence after admitting to sexual assault of a child under 13 and making indecent images of children. She will serve six years on extended licence and was also granted a 20-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Detective Inspector George Neal from Cambridgeshire Police commented: “This was a horrific case which has ended in long sentences, custodial and then on licence, for both Robinson and Eason Edge. I am pleased it has been recognised how dangerous these two are, and that they can no longer inflict that harm on others.”
