WOMAN CHARGED WITH STABBING HER BOYFRIEND IN THE CHEEK
A woman named Karen Taylor, aged 41, has appeared in court charged with wounding after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the cheek with a screwdriver.The incident reportedly took place at the victim's home in North Street, Lockwood, on October 31 of the previous year.
According to prosecutor Shamalia Qureshi, the couple was in a casual relationship.
During an argument at the victim's residence, Taylor allegedly suddenly lashed out and struck him in the left side of his face with a sharp object.
The victim attended Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with bleeding to his cheek and was diagnosed with a puncture wound.
The victim later found a screwdriver at the scene and realized this had been used in the attack.
Karen Taylor did not indicate a plea during her hearing at Kirklees Magistrates' Court, which then declined jurisdiction and transferred the case to Leeds Crown Court.
She is scheduled to appear there on August 20 and was granted unconditional bail.
