Perthshire Domestic Abuser
Kane Forbes, a 36-year-old landscaper hailing from Errol in Perthshire, appeared before Perth Sheriff Court to answer charges related to aggressive and threatening conduct. The court proceedings revealed that Forbes had engaged in a violent episode in a school car park, during which he directed verbal abuse at his former partner and caused damage to her mobile phone. Witnesses present at the scene described a tense and heated confrontation, where Forbes used highly offensive language, calling his ex-partner a "fat f***ing c**t" and a "cheating c**t." The altercation escalated as he followed her into the school premises, grabbing her shoulder in a physical manner. When she attempted to call her current partner for support, Forbes seized her phone, damaging it by bending and breaking the device. Despite the assault, she was able to contact the police afterward to report the incident. The court acknowledged Forbes’ expressions of remorse and noted his ongoing mental health issues, which he attributed to the breakdown of his previous relationship. Sheriff Alison McKay sentenced him to a year of supervision and ordered him to complete 120 hours of unpaid community service. The court decided that a non-harassment order was unnecessary, as the victim had previously requested that bail conditions be lifted. Additionally, Forbes faced a separate admonition for possessing a knife in Invergowrie in August 2022. The judge emphasized the seriousness of the incident, particularly because it occurred at a school, and described Forbes’ behavior as "spoiling for a fight" driven by jealousy over his ex-partner’s new relationship.
