ABERDEEN MAN KAI WING CHAN CAUGHT WITH INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN IN ABERDEEN
In a recent case heard at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, a 42-year-old man named Kai Wing Chan faced serious charges related to the possession of indecent images of children.
The court proceedings revealed that Chan had been found in possession of such material over a period spanning from August 27, 2011, to October 25, 2013, at his residence in Aberdeen.
During the hearing, it was disclosed that Chan had previously admitted to downloading and possessing indecent photographs and pseudo-photos of minors.
A police investigation involved a search of his property, during which a laptop and a computer tower were seized and examined.
The forensic analysis uncovered a total of 98 indecent images and 10 videos depicting children in various states of exploitation.
Most of the images discovered were classified as level one, indicating the least severe category of indecency, but nonetheless representing a serious criminal offense.
The court took these findings into account when sentencing Chan.
Sheriff Graham Buchanan issued a judgment requiring Chan, whose address was listed as 47 King Robert’s Way, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, to complete 200 hours of unpaid community service within the span of a year.
Additionally, the court placed him under a supervision order for a period of three years, emphasizing the gravity of the offense and the need for ongoing monitoring to prevent any future misconduct.
