JULIAN CARR OF RAYNES PARK SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES AND PORNOGRAPHY IN LONDON

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Julian Carr, a 41-year-old actor residing in Raynes Park, has been sentenced to prison for a series of heinous child sex crimes and possession of child pornography. The investigation revealed a long history of depraved behavior, including stalking pupils in Wimbledon and engaging in illicit activities involving minors.

Carr's criminal conduct came to light after police raids on his home in August, where they uncovered a staggering collection of over 50,000 images stored on his computer. These images included photographs taken secretly underneath the skirts of women and children, using a small mirror and digital camera. Many of these victims were followed around Wimbledon town centre, highlighting the extent of his obsession with young girls and women.

Further details emerged during the court proceedings at Kingston Crown Court, where prosecutor Edmund Gritt outlined the full scope of Carr's disturbing behavior. It was revealed that Carr had a fixation on female underwear, school uniforms, and the bottoms of very young girls as young as three years old. His perversions extended over more than two decades, during which he also stole underwear and took innocent photographs from family albums while staying with friends during theatre tours.

One of the most shocking admissions was Carr's confession to police that he had sexually assaulted a young girl on an escalator at Oxford Circus station during the 1980s. This revelation added to the gravity of his crimes, which spanned many years and involved multiple victims.

In addition to the possession and distribution of child pornography, Carr admitted to making and taking thousands of illicit images. His criminal record also includes a previous conviction for sexually assaulting a child and an attempt to meet a girl he contacted online in Birmingham.

Judge handed down a sentence of two years and nine months imprisonment, covering charges of indecent assault, theft, public nuisance, and various offences related to child pornography. Carr was also ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years and will undergo a four-year period of supervision and rehabilitation upon his release from prison.

Detective Sergeant Brian Rooney, from Merton’s public protection unit, commented on the case, stating, “Today’s sentence means that Carr will no longer be able to continue his paedophilic lifestyle, ensuring that no one else becomes one of his victims.” The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable individuals from predatory offenders.
