WOOLHAMPTON MAN GETS SUSPENDED JAIL FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
Joshua Redding, a 24-year-old man from Bath Road, Woolhampton, has been sentenced to an 18-month suspended jail term for child sex offences at Reading Crown Court.
The court heard that he previously admitted to making indecent photographs of a child, attempting to cause a child to watch sexual images, engaging in sexual communication with a child, and possessing extreme and prohibited images involving animals and serious injury content.
On 12 November 2020, he was found with prohibited images of children, and on 4 June 2021, he created indecent images, including Category A, B, and C images, as well as an extreme image of sexual activity with a dog.
Further crimes included possession of images portraying acts likely to cause serious injury, between June 2022, where he also engaged in sexual communication with a child misperceiving their age, and on 27 June 2022, causing a child to view indecent images of himself.
The sentence included 18 months in prison suspended for two years, 120 hours of unpaid work, victim compensation of £150, destruction of seized devices, and a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
A police officer emphasized the commitment to protecting children and investigating such crimes, highlighting that Redding cooperated with the court.
