The sentencing took place at Birmingham Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty in May to three counts of rape and four counts of sexual assault. The case has been described by West Midlands Police as one of the most disturbing and severe they have ever encountered.

The family members involved include his half-brother, Anthony Potts, aged 49, who was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 16 years, and their father, Keith Potts, aged 67, who received an eight-year sentence for cruelty to children.
