JOSEPH NICHOLSON CAUGHT IN DUNDEE IN SHOCKING CHILD SEX ABUSE CASE

A 40-year-old man named Joseph Nicholson was apprehended in Dundee following a covert police operation targeting online child exploitation. The messages, which were read aloud by the fiscal depute, showed Nicholson adopting the alias 'Lewis' and making explicit comments such as, “I wanna see everything cause I think you are cute AF,” while urging the minors to send provocative images. In one particularly disturbing instance, Nicholson pressured a profile to record a video stating his name, further demonstrating his predatory intent.

When police searched Nicholson’s home, they found the matching clothing from his online photos and a series of illegal videos stored on his mobile device, which he had received through a group chat. Nicholson admitted to attempting to communicate indecently with two minors via social media during the period from August to October 2023. He pleaded guilty to these charges on the day of his trial, with sentencing deferred until July to allow for a social work report to be prepared.

As part of the legal proceedings, Nicholson’s bail was extended, and he is now officially registered as a sex offender.
