ABERDEEN MAN JAILED FOR SLEEP-TIME SEXUAL ASSAULT AFTER ONLINE DATE

Joseph Manhyia attacked his victim after she fell asleep while watching a movie.

The woman had met him via an online dating app and invited him to her home on October 13.

The court heard that she woke up during the night to find Manhyia sexually assaulting her, with two fingers inside her.

Sheriff Graham Buchanan described the crime as serious and branded it 'a very serious offence.' Manhyia had no previous convictions and was in employment, but the court sentenced him to two years and three months in prison, barring him from contacting the victim and imposing sex offender notification requirements.
