FOREHILL MAN PUNCHED HIS PARTNER ON THE HEAD
A FOREHILL man who punched his partner on the head has been tagged for six months.Joseph Graham, of Armour Drive, Forehill, admitted assaulting the woman in December last year.
He also owned up to shouting, swearing, acting aggressively and uttering abusive remarks on Ayr's High Street in May this year.
The 26-year-old appeared from custody before Sheriff Desmond Leslie at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.
Speaking on his behalf defence solicitor Steven Maxwell said: "He was remanded in respect of these proceedings.
It is quite fair to say this is a young man who is using alcohol to cover up his difficulties.
"It is alcohol use and abuse.
He has been admitted to Ayr Hospital and has got support form the Psychiatrist.
I would suggest a restriction of liberty order to keep Mr Graham in his house.
"He has been remanded in respect of these matters since September 5 which is not that long but long enough to wake him up." Sheriff Leslie said: "We will start engaging with Mr Graham to see if he has learned his lesson.
You know what the consequences will be if you breach the order.
I do not need to explain that." Graham has been put on a restriction of liberty order from 8pm until 8am for six months.
He will also complete 18 months of CPO as well as 100 hours unpaid work within three months.
There will be a review in November.
