JOSE DELGADO-LEON SENTENCED IN REDDITCH FOR RAPE OF 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
A man from Redditch has been handed a significant prison sentence after being found guilty of a serious sexual offense involving a minor.Jose Delgado-Leon, aged 24 and residing on Hatton Close in Redditch, was convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl in 2017.
The victim, demonstrating remarkable bravery and resilience, reported the assault to authorities a year later, in 2018, when she felt sufficiently prepared to come forward and share her traumatic experience.
Delgado-Leon faced charges of two counts of rape initially, but during the trial, he denied both allegations.
Ultimately, the court found him guilty of one count of rape, leading to his sentencing at Worcester Crown Court.
The judge sentenced him to nine years in prison, a decision that underscores the severity of the crime.
Police officials described the offense as 'abhorrent,' emphasizing the gravity of the case and the importance of justice for the victim.
In a statement, West Mercia Police spokesperson highlighted the case, saying, "A man from Redditch has been sent to prison for raping a 14-year-old girl.
