VICTIMS PRAISED AS €˜SERIAL SEXUAL PREDATOR€™ FROM COUNTY DURHAM GETS 18 YEARS IN JAIL

Law enforcement has commended the courage of two women who survived sexual assaults after a man dubbed a “dangerous, serial sexual predator” received an 18-year prison sentence.

Jordan Kitching, aged 20, was convicted following a trial at Teesside Crown Court, where harrowing details of his offenses were revealed.

During the incidents, Kitching forced his way into a young woman’s residence to attack her and restrained another victim by the throat as he assaulted her sexually.

Prosecutor Paul Cleasby described Kitching as an “emotionally unstable, manipulative individual with a sadistic streak” in relation to his sex offenses.

He also disclosed that at 17, Kitching had twice raped a teenage girl, noting that she clearly showed distress but Kitching remained unbothered and indifferent to her suffering.

In another separate case, when he was 19, Kitching raped a woman at a party after she refused his advances.

He covered her mouth and later her throat before forcing himself on her.

One of the victims stated that Kitching’s assault had led to her self-harming and developing alcohol-related problems.

Another victim disclosed she now depends on antidepressants and expressed ongoing confusion and shame over what happened: “I’m still trying to understand why he did this, and I still feel devastated and ashamed.” In his defense, Stephen Constantine mentioned that Kitching, from Redwood Flats in Brandon, had a difficult and lonely childhood.

Kitching admitted to four counts of rape and was sentenced to 18 years behind bars.

The judge, Howard Crowson, also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order with strict conditions restricting Kitching’s interactions with women online without prior police approval, aimed at safeguarding against future offenses.

After the sentencing on Friday morning, Durham Police’s Detective Inspector Aelf Sampson praised the resilience of Kitching’s victims and reiterated that he is a “dangerous, serial sexual predator.” He expressed concern that Kitching might have continued his offending had police not intervened and stated, “We are very pleased with this significant sentence.”
