Fochriw Sexual Abuser
A convicted sex offender named Jordan Howe was required to be escorted away by police after residents protested outside his home in Coronation Crescent, Fochriw. Approximately 50 people gathered in front of Howe's residence on Sunday, July 21, demanding that he leave the area. The protest was peaceful, with community members expressing concern over placing such individuals in small communities and emphasizing the need to protect children. A Gwent Police spokesperson reported that around 40 to 50 people had assembled, and officers arrived to disperse the crowd, with no arrests made. Howe, aged 26, had previously been sentenced on July 3 at Cardiff Crown Court to 40 weeks in custody, suspended for two years, after pleading guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a child. He was also placed on the sex offenders' register for ten years and issued a five-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim.
