A QUARRY Bank man brutally raped a single mother he "failed to charm".
According to Judge James Burbidge QC, Jonathan Ngolo ignored the victim's tearful pleas for him to stop and "treated her with contempt".
The judge said the 26-year-old had deliberately targeted the woman and "made a significant play for her." He added that Ngolo had lied to his victim, exploiting her naivety, and ignored her pleas to let her go.
The victim stated that Ngolo's actions have caused her significant trauma, humiliated her, and turned her life upside down, leaving her with a mental scar.
Ngolo claimed he denied the rape, but he was found guilty after a jury trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
He was sentenced to six years, four months in prison and ordered to be subject of an indeterminate sexual offenders protection order and must register as a sex offender for life.
Prosecutor Samantha Crabbe described the crime as the worst day of her client's life, emphasizing the humiliation and deep trauma caused.
