Nottingham Child Sexual Abuser
A Nottingham paedophile was caught with more than 1,000 vile images of young girls being raped. Nottingham Crown Court was told how Jonathan Lake was downloading and viewing these illegal stills and clips for several months from his home in Clifton. The images included girls as young as four. When arrested, Lake claimed he had no sexual interest in children. However, after pleading guilty to three charges, he admitted he must have had an interest during a pre-sentence interview. Judge Michael Auty KC described the offences as 'totally abhorrent' and expressed confusion about why police stopped counting images at 1,000. The court heard police found 123 of the most serious Category A images, 94 Category B, and over 1,000 Category C images on devices seized from Lake. Despite his claims, Lake was found guilty and sentenced to a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years, with 150 hours of unpaid work, 40 rehabilitation sessions, and placed on the sex offender register for 10 years along with a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
