In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Maesteg, a local man named Jon Millhouse has been convicted of serious crimes involving voyeurism and the production of indecent images of a minor. The case, which unfolded at Chichester Crown Court, revealed troubling details about Millhouse’s actions and the impact on his young victim.

Jon Millhouse, aged 57 and unemployed, residing on Gloucester Road, was charged with multiple offenses. These included one count of voyeurism, seven counts of taking indecent images of a child between January and May 2012, and two counts of non-penetrative sexual activity with a minor. The allegations stemmed from an incident where Millhouse secretly filmed a teenage girl, with the intent of deriving sexual gratification from his actions. Additionally, he was accused of touching her bottom during the same period.

The trial, which took place at Chichester Crown Court, saw the defendant deny some of the charges, but the jury ultimately found him guilty of voyeurism and the production of indecent images. However, he was acquitted of the charges related to non-penetrative sexual activity with the minor. The verdict was delivered on Friday, November 29, marking a significant moment in the case.

Detective Constable Tim Hughes commented on the outcome, stating, “Millhouse tried to excuse his actions, but what he did, by covertly filming the victim, has had a profound effect on her. I am extremely pleased a jury has today found him guilty of these crimes and that he has been punished accordingly.” Hughes also praised the bravery of the young girl who testified in court, acknowledging her courage in speaking out against her abuser. He emphasized the importance of reporting any form of sexual abuse, assuring the public that victims will receive support and assistance from law enforcement.

Millhouse is scheduled to be sentenced at Chichester Crown Court on January 10. The case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing issues surrounding child exploitation and the importance of vigilance within communities to protect vulnerable individuals from harm.
