JOHNNIE CONNORS SHOCKS CROPTHORNE AND EVESHAM WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT GUILTY VERDICT

The defendant, Johnnie Connors, aged 17 and residing on Main Road in Cropthorne, was judged by a jury at Worcester Crown Court to have committed the crime of sexual assault against a 15-year-old girl.

According to prosecutor Peter Grice, Connors, who was then 15 years old, was in the company of friends at Abbey Park in Evesham. The victim was also present at the social gathering, but Connors reportedly demanded that her friends leave so he could be alone with her. Mr. Grice detailed that Connors then pushed the girl against a wall near a rowing club, kissed her face, and committed a sexual assault.

The girl’s ordeal was interrupted when her boyfriend and another youth arrived at the scene. Connors fled the area but allegedly warned the girl to keep silent about what had happened, threatening that he would harm her if she revealed the incident. Despite his threats, the girl confided in others, and her mother eventually advised her to contact the police, leading to the case being brought before the court.
