JOHNATHON DUNN FROM REDCAR AND CLEVELAND SENTENCED FOR CHILD ASSAULTS IN THE BORDERS

A man aged 32, identified as Johnathon Dunn, has been found guilty of assaulting four young children, resulting in injuries that required medical attention. The incident took place at a residence located in the Borders region, with the assaults occurring on multiple occasions spanning nearly four years, from July 2018 through March 2022.

The case was heard at Jedburgh Sheriff Court, where Sheriff Iain Nicol delivered the verdict. As part of the sentencing, Dunn was ordered to complete 240 hours of unpaid community work. This sentence aims to serve both as punishment and a means of rehabilitation, emphasizing the seriousness of the crimes committed.

In addition to the community service, Sheriff Nicol placed Dunn under supervision for a period of 12 months. This supervision entails regular monitoring and potential intervention to prevent any further misconduct.

Furthermore, Dunn faced a fifth charge related to his conduct during this period. He was admonished for behaving in a threatening or abusive manner on various occasions over the course of the four years. This aspect of the case highlights a pattern of concerning behavior beyond the initial assaults, reflecting ongoing issues with Dunn's conduct during that time.
