Midlothian Child Abuser Sexual Abuser
John Wilson, 81, of Midlothian, has been sentenced to 12 years and 9 months in prison, with an additional 3-year extended supervision, for a string of sexual offences spanning six decades — from 1963 to 2019.

Wilson was found guilty of sexually abusing multiple victims, including schoolgirls, teenage boys, and vulnerable adults — many of whom were plied with alcohol and drugs before being assaulted.

He is now on the sex offenders register for life.

Wilson, a known associate of disgraced Bay City Rollers manager Tam Paton, preyed on the vulnerable. His conviction is a result of the bravery of survivors who came forward to share their stories.

Fraser Gibson, Scotland’s Procurator Fiscal for High Court Sexual Offences, stated:

“John Wilson’s abuse of vulnerable victims was abhorrent... Today’s sentence should provide reassurance that the passage of time is no barrier to justice
