MAN JAILED FOR DOMESTIC AND SEXUAL OFFENCES IN DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY
A man has received a prison sentence for engaging in both domestic and sexual abuse against a woman in Dumfries and Galloway.
John Monteith, aged 58, was sentenced to nine years and six months in jail at Inverness High Court on Wednesday, 17 December, 2025.
He had previously been convicted at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 5 November, 2025.
The crimes occurred in the Sanquhar area over a period stretching from 1986 to 2021.
Additionally, Monteith was issued with a lifelong non-harassment order to protect his victim.
