Dr.
John Andrew Jones, aged 33 and of Bedlinog, Treharris, appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court where he admitted to numerous sexual offences involving a female minor.
He pleaded guilty to charges including causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and possession of indecent images of children.
The court heard that over a 10-day period, Jones contacted a 12-year-old girl through online channels, initiating sexualized conversations that led to her sending him explicit images.
During one exchange, Jones explained he was at his work desk, feeling bored while attending to patients.
As part of his sentencing, Jones received a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
He was also placed under a sexual harm prevention order indefinitely and registration as a sex offender for 10 years.
