JOHN HILL SENTENCED IN HULL FOR MULTIPLE SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN
John Hill, a 58-year-old man residing on Malm Street, off Anlaby Road in Hull, has been convicted of several serious sexual offences following a jury trial at Hull Crown Court.Despite maintaining his innocence and denying five charges of indecent assault along with six charges of indecency with a child, the court found him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
The case revealed disturbing details of Hill’s misconduct involving a young girl.
The court heard that Hill had engaged in inappropriate physical contact with the victim, grooming her by repeatedly telling her she was a good girl.
This manipulation eventually escalated into more serious sexual activities, which caused lasting trauma for the young girl.
The victim, who testified during the trial, described her ongoing emotional struggles, stating, "I now struggle with trauma.
It impacts me more than I ever thought it would.
I know I have faced many obstacles because of it.
It takes its toll over the years." She also openly identified Hill as her abuser, emphasizing his lack of remorse.
She said, "He was the man who groomed and abused me.
He has no remorse.
He is a paedophile and a child molester and nothing he does will change that.
This whole ordeal has been immense.
I know I will be dealing with this for the rest of my life.
He is the face of my abuser.
I am no longer afraid." Following the verdict, Judge Richard Woolfall sentenced Hill to a term of 15 years in prison.
Additionally, Hill was given an extended licence period of one year upon release.
The judge also declared Hill an offender of particular concern, reflecting the severity of his crimes.
Hill was remanded into custody immediately after the sentencing, having been on bail during the trial, and will serve his sentence in a secure prison facility.
